Alien: Romulus made a first-place debut at the domestic box office, collecting over $42 million when it debuted in theatres on August 16, 2024. Alien: Covenant, which was the second-highest grossing movie in the series, was quickly surpassed by the movie. In Imax theatres, it is also regarded as the highest-grossing horror movie.
