Dot9 Games and Nazara Publishing have announced that their mobile shooter game, FAU-G: Domination, which centers around the Indian military, has reached a significant milestone by achieving over one million pre-registrations. The pre-registration for the game, which started three weeks ago, is currently available for Android users, with an iOS release planned for a later date. This achievement marks the fastest game to hit one million pre-registrations for Nazara Publishing, setting a new record for the company.
Developed by Mumbai-based Dot9 Games and published by Nazara Publishing, FAU-G: Domination has been positioned as a made-in-India game that focuses on India’s military, with a commitment to supporting the families of Indian soldiers. Pre-registrations for the game began on September 5 during an event that included nCore Group and Dot9 Games mentor, Akshay Kumar.
Nazara Publishing, recognized as India’s first turnkey publishing platform, has launched a comprehensive marketing campaign to encourage Indian gamers to pre-register for the game. This campaign includes collaborations with top content creators and influencers in India, as well as offering bonuses for early registrations. Vishal Gondal, cofounder of nCore Games, expressed that reaching this milestone so rapidly is a clear indication of the growing demand for high-quality, Indian-made gaming content. He emphasized that the strong support from Indian gamers reflects their desire for gaming experiences that resonate with their own culture and identity.
Deepak Ail, CEO of Dot9 Games, mentioned that reaching a million pre-registrations serves as an incentive to make the game even better. He noted that the team is currently focused on fine-tuning the game and determining the features that should be available at launch, based on player feedback gathered from playtests.
FAU-G: Domination aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for the nation’s gaming industry to develop world-class games that reflect Indian talent and potential. This push comes in response to Modi’s emphasis on building India as a global leader in gaming. The political context also plays a role in this development, as India’s tense relationship with China led to the banning of PUBG: Mobile, which was later rebranded and relaunched in India as Battlegrounds Mobile India.
The latest trailer for FAU-G: Domination showcases various weapons, maps, and intense gameplay, demonstrating the immersive experience Dot9 Games and nCore aim to deliver to Indian and international gamers. Under Akshay Kumar’s mentorship, nCore is dedicating the game to the Bharat Ke Veer Trust, which supports families of India’s Armed Forces Martyrs. Nazara has contributed ₹25,00,000 to this trust, and 100% of proceeds from specific in-game cosmetic items will also be donated.
The game recently had its second playtest, allowing players to try out the latest build and provide feedback, which has been instrumental in refining various aspects such as gameplay mechanics, weapon balance, map designs, and user interface. These insights have been critical in ensuring that FAU-G: Domination evolves to meet the expectations of its gaming community.
