What was a major challenge you had to overcome to get to where you are today?
Because my cutlery has depressions and curves to fit a person’s hand, it was a significant challenge to have manufactured. Manufacturers didn’t know how to create cutlery that wasn’t the standard, specifically struggling to insert the tangle that holds the blade in the handle.
Eventually, we did find a way to make this possible, but it was a unique challenge that I didn’t anticipate.
What drives you to keep working hard each day?
I love getting to find new clients from around the world, all with their own needs and interests. I’ve found great joy in developing new products and classes that can meet their unique needs and provide them with the right support. It’s what keeps me engaged with my business and excited about my work.
What would you say to those who are just starting a business?
Reach out to those who have successfully built their own businesses and ask for what tips they can give you in building your own. There are so many hurdles to developing a business that can be solved by learning from more experienced entrepreneurs. You can save significant time by not making the same mistakes that others already have. If you take the time to listen to others, you can avoid many of the pitfalls at an early stage of creating a business.
