What about the music industry prompted you to found MiraQle?
The fact that the music consumers actually want to hear isn’t always what becomes popular, or is even produced. The music industry only heavily markets the kind of music they feel will sell
well. Usually, the kind of music that consumers get to hear isn’t the music they have a preference for.
Is this something you’ve seen firsthand?
Actually, yes. I was watching TV one night when I heard a voice on the show’s soundtrack that seemed really familiar. Come to find out, it was a song our entertainment general manager had recorded and released about ten years ago. When I asked her about it, she said she had never received enough advertising to compete in the industry, which was a shame because she absolutely has the talent.
How did her story impact MiraQle’s approach to the music industry?
We now have the ability to seek out incredible artists and produce the music that fans want to hear, even if it isn’t necessarily what the music industry says is “popular.” After all, there are millions of people who love music, and each of them have their own preferences. That’s the joy of coming together around these platforms.
