Reliance Jio has officially launched the Jio AX6000 Universal Router, a new addition to its home connectivity lineup, which the company describes as one of India’s most powerful yet affordable WiFi 6 routers tailored for modern smart home environments. This latest device is designed to deliver high-speed, seamless internet coverage throughout the home and is compatible with all major internet service providers via Ethernet connectivity.

According to details shared by Jio, the AX6000 router harnesses the latest WiFi 6 technology, offering speeds of up to 6 Gbps. It is specifically built to manage bandwidth-heavy activities such as 4K video streaming, online gaming, and large-scale downloads while simultaneously supporting connections for over 100 devices. Thanks to MU-MIMO and OFDMA capabilities, the router ensures efficient data distribution even when numerous devices are active at the same time.

Jio highlights that the device is smart home-ready, featuring dual-band WiFi and a dedicated Internet of Things (IoT) mode. Operating under a single SSID, it intelligently switches between the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequency bands to optimise performance based on device needs. The exclusive IoT mode on the 2.4 GHz band is intended to maintain stable connections for smart appliances and home automation gadgets, ensuring reliable performance for all connected devices.

The router’s AX6000 designation refers to its support for WiFi 6 technology and a combined maximum speed rating of 6,000 Mbps, achieved through 4,800 Mbps on the 5 GHz band and 1,200 Mbps on the 2.4 GHz band. In addition, the device is compatible with Jio’s True AI Mesh system, enabling users to expand their home network through compatible WiFi 6 extenders such as the JioExtender JE6801, ensuring consistent signal strength across larger areas without interruptions.

Security has also been prioritised, with the router featuring WPA3 encryption to safeguard user data against contemporary cyber threats. Users can manage and configure their AX6000 router via the JioHome App, which simplifies installation and network control.

Priced at ₹5,999, the Jio AX6000 Universal Router is currently available for purchase on Amazon. While universally compatible, the router operates using IP over DHCP protocols and does not support IPoE or PPPoE configurations. Reliance Jio also notes that the device is proudly manufactured in India.
