A poster has been released for the first Malayalam superhero movie by Dulquer Salmaan

The trailer for Dulquer Salmaan’s upcoming film, “Lokah – Chapter One: Chandra,” which is being produced under his Wayfarer Films banner, has been released. The movie features Kalyani Priyadarshan and Naslen K in the lead roles and has been described as the first-ever superhero film in the Malayalam film industry. This bold and genre-defining project marks a significant departure from the traditional cinematic narratives seen in the region, bringing forth a new wave of storytelling that blends local sensibilities with larger-than-life superhero elements.

Sharing the poster on Instagram, Dulquer expressed his excitement about introducing audiences to the world of “Lokah,” hinting at a universe where myths and legends collide with action and emotion. In contrast to her previous roles, Kalyani Priyadarshan is depicted in the image in a powerful superhero avatar. She is shown poised for battle amidst a devastated, war-torn landscape, while Naslen K appears in a moment of emotional intensity, kneeling and crying out in anguish. The imagery sets the tone for what appears to be an epic narrative rich with conflict, resilience, and transformation.

This ambitious venture is the seventh film to be produced by Wayfarer Films, highlighting the production house’s growing influence and experimentation in Malayalam cinema.
