Google is working with OnePlus and Oppo to integrate Gemini 1.0 Ultra into their devices. Later this year, the Chinese smartphone manufacturers will soon unveil capabilities enabled by Google’s Gemini AI. The business announced at the Google Cloud Next ’24 event that OnePlus and Oppo devices will be receiving additional capabilities in the near future, including an AI toolset, news, and audio summaries.

Nicole Zhang, OPPO and OnePlus’ general manager of AI products, explained: “Generative AI is a revolutionary technology, and I believe OPPO and OnePlus are perfectly positioned to bring the benefits of AI to users all around the world. By collaborating with Google to integrate both Gemini and Google Cloud AI into smartphones, and by forming alliances with other industry pioneers for a variety of AI experiences, we are thrilled to ambitiously broaden the scope of mobile AI innovations.”

Both manufacturers recently introduced their first generative AI feature, “AI Eraser,” which uses Oppo’s AndesGPT LLM to eliminate objects and create backgrounds in photographs. This partnership will lead to new AI experiences on OnePlus and Oppo devices. This feature is currently available on the Oppo Reno 11 series of devices, as well as the recently released OnePlus Nord CE 4, OnePlus Open, OnePlus 12, OnePlus 12R, and OnePlus 12 (review).

Over 100 AIGC experiences will soon be available from Oppo and OnePlus, and both firms are probably going to roll out the new features one after the other. In the upcoming days, users may also notice features like Google’s Circle to Search arriving on OnePlus and Oppo handsets.
