Day 1 box office collection for the main Atal Hoon: Under Ravi Jadhav’s direction, the movie liked a respectable start at the domestic box office. According to Sacnilk.com, first estimates for the opening day of the movie in India were ₹1 crore nett. Actor Pankaj Tripathi played the late Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in the movie.
Review of Main Atal Hoon:
“Pankaj’s solid performance that doesn’t make you blink an eye and keeps you invested in the film,” was how the Hindustan Times described the movie. The actor gives an outstanding performance and plays a myriad of emotions as Atal Bihari Vajpayee. I found it amazing that, despite Pankaj’s physical transformation to resemble Atal perfectly, not a single attempt was made to mimic his demeanor or voice modulation during speaking. However, Pankaj’s eye movements, smile, and hand gestures during speeches and informal conversations will almost always allow you to recognize the genuine Atal on TV.”

Pankaj on the late PM, film:
Pankaj spoke with news agency ANI recently regarding the late PM. “Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s personality is so different from modern politicians,” he had previously stated. He was a poet. He was a leader who had both passionate supporters and opponents. I’ve discovered that a person should be democratic from the inside out; that is, even when I enjoy this, even when I’m angry with you, I know deep down that you don’t like me. He inspires you to think that everybody can succeed in life.”
The actor talked about his preparation for the role of the late prime minister, saying, “I wondered if I could pull this off. However, I’ve been to two of Atal ji’s political gatherings. I went to listen to him while I was five hundred meters away in the crowd.”
