Film Housefull 5 box office collection starring Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, and Abhishek Bachchan

On its first day of release, Akshay Kumar’s most recent movie, Housefull 5, made a remarkable ₹23 crore nett at the box office. This opening day figure not only marked the strongest start for any installment in the Housefull franchise but also surpassed the initial performances of recent high-profile releases. Compared to its predecessor Housefull 4, which opened at ₹19.08 crore nett back in 2019, the fifth installment clearly raised the bar. It also outpaced Akshay’s earlier release this year, Sky Force, which had brought in ₹11.50 crore nett on its first day, and even beat out Fighter, another major Bollywood title that had launched with ₹22.50 crore nett.

Interestingly, Housefull 5 hit screens with a unique twist—audiences were presented with two alternative versions of the film, labeled Housefull 5A and Housefull 5B, each featuring a different ending. Despite the high earnings, the film didn’t lead the morning show occupancy race. Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava achieved the highest morning turnout with 30.5 percent occupancy, establishing itself as the year’s biggest Bollywood success so far. Following it were Raid 2 at 21.23 percent, Badass Ravi Kumar at 13.9 percent, and Sikandar close behind with 13.76 percent. Despite ranking in the top five on the opening day list, Housefull 5 saw roughly 55% fewer viewers during the morning shows.

The film was produced under Sajid Nadiadwala’s banner, Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, and features a star-packed cast including Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Fardeen Khan, Nana Patekar, Jackie Shroff, and Jacqueline Fernandez among others. Directed by Tarun Mansukhani, the plot unfolds aboard a luxury cruise ship where a shocking murder takes place just after a billionaire declares that his fortune will be passed on to someone named Jolly. The narrative spirals into chaos when it’s revealed that three men onboard—played by Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, and Abhishek Bachchan—share the same name and become central to the mystery, alongside their respective partners, all of whom emerge as prime suspects.
