Forty years after The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes and twenty-four years before the events of The Hunger Games trilogy, Sunrise on the Reaping will occur. The story will start on the morning of the 50th Hunger Games, Second Quarter Quell. The main character of the narrative will be Haymitch Abernathy, played by Woody Harrelson in the motion picture. Haymitch serves as a mentor to Jennifer Lawrence’s Katniss and Josh Hutcherson’s Peeta in the 74th Hunger Games.
