The ‘communities tab’ is a new feature that WhatsApp, owned by Meta, is allegedly working on bringing to the iPad.

WhatsApp is launching the communities tab on the iPad app, as seen in the screenshot WABetaInfo posted. The iPad was not able to use this feature before because it is a linked device with certain restrictions.”

The discussions list allowed users to explore groups, but the process was a little awkward because they had to search through other talks to find every community,” the research explained.

By allowing iPad users to manage and access their communities straight from the app through a dedicated tab, WhatsApp is solving this constraint and enhancing the user experience with the most recent version, it explained.

Additionally, the article stated that users can build and administer communities directly from the iPad app by using the communities tab.

Previously, it was confined to primary devices, which prevented iPad owners from taking full advantage of this function.

According to the source, an iPad feature that adds a communities tab is now accessible to a select group of beta testers and will be expanded to a wider audience in the coming days.

It has been expected that WhatsApp is developing a new in-app dialer function that would enable users to place calls straight from the app.

To make calls via the app, users won’t need to add contacts to their address book. Within the calls tab, they will see a new floating action button that allows them to use the in-app dialer.
