Ashwin reveals scheme to deprive him of leadership role in India, saying “the overthinker tag was created to work against me”

Ashwin disclosed the reason he was passed over for the India captaincy for the first time ever.

In an interview with Indian Express, Ashwin addressed the criticism that he was a “overthinker” in the world of cricket. He claimed that if, like most other Indian players, he had been guaranteed a regular spot in the playing XI, he wouldn’t have overanalyzed or been “traumatised” by his position. Even worse, he criticised the populace for the “unfair” naming.

I have no influence over whether or not that name appears first on the sheet. It has to be there if I earned it, in my opinion. As I previously stated, I have no complaints and no time to wallow in self-pity or regret. I don’t regret anything about anybody, he declared.

Ashwin is now the captain of Dindigul Dragons in the ongoing 2023 Tamil Nadu Premier League. He will return to the India team for the tour of the West Indies next month.
