Jio Fiber will be limited by physical infrastructure, such as optical fibers, whereas AirFiber won’t, allowing it to offer a wider coverage area.

Launch of Jio AirFiber by Reliance, September 19, Jio formally introduced Jio AirFiber, a wireless internet service. This service provides amazing speeds of up to 1.5 Gbps and is designed for both households and offices, making it perfect for tasks like high-definition video streaming, online gaming, and lag-free video conferencing. Jio promotes the AirFiber as a device that can give “fiber-like speed over the air without any wires” in a statement on its website. For gigabyte-speed internet, using it only requires plugging it in and turning it on. Mukesh Ambani, the chairman of Reliance Industries, originally disclosed the product on August 28 at the company’s 46th Annual General Meeting.

The first eight cities where Jio AirFiber will be available are Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Pune. “With Jio AirFiber, we are fast covering every home in our nation with a similar level of service while extending our addressable market. Through its solutions in education, health, surveillance, and smart homes, JioAirFiber will provide millions of homes with high-quality digital entertainment, smart home services, and broadband, according to Akash Ambani, chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited.

Jio AirFiber: What is it?

Reliance A plug-and-play wireless router would be used to deliver internet over Wi-Fi in Jio’s 5G-powered fixed wireless access (FWA) internet service. Jio AirFiber would establish direct links with Jio towers through wireless router receivers, as opposed to conventional broadband offerings like Jio Fiber, which rely on optical fiber cables. The router would broadcast internet services wirelessly because it has Wi-Fi built in. In essence, this means that without the use of optical fiber lines, the router would receive internet-ready 5G network signals, which would then be wirelessly delivered to connected devices.

Jio Fiber and Jio AirFiber have different properties

Jio Fiber will be limited by physical infrastructure, such as optical fibers, whereas AirFiber won’t, allowing it to offer a wider coverage area.

Additionally, it is expected that AirFiber will outperform Jio Fiber’s 1 Gbps speeds. The speed, however, may change based on the Jio Tower’s nearby signal strength.
