Apple has significantly upgraded Logic Pro for Mac and iPad, giving beatmakers and music producers access to powerful new tools. The most obvious enhancement is a redesigned Stem Splitter that allows for clearer audio separation and can now isolate not only percussion and voices but also guitars and keyboards.
Flashback capture has made it possible to recover audio and MIDI recordings that you did not push record on. Toggling Cycle mode and jamming out will cause Logic to automatically save each pass into a take folder. In other words, it’s much harder to lose your best ideas these days.
Apple has included a number of new sound packs: Tosin Abasi adds progressive metal flair with distinctive riffs and boutique effects; Magnetic Imperfections offers tape-style grit; and Dancefloor Rush offers more than 400 drum-and-bass loops and kits.
Learn MIDI—assign knobs, faders, or buttons to control plug-ins or instruments in real time—is now supported by Logic Pro on iPad. Drag-and-drop and visual feedback ensure that you are not confined to menus while attempting to maintain focus.
With track-based search and a new Writing Tools tool in Notepad that uses Apple Intelligence to assist refine lyrics and song ideas instantly, Mac users can also take advantage of smarter project management.
