The producers of Hansal Mehta’s 2012 film Shahid expressed reluctance to move further with the lead actor Rajummar Rao.

Hansal Mehta, a filmmaker, is currently enjoying the popularity of his most recent web series, Scoop. Rajkummar Rao’s leading role was first resisted by the producers of the 2012 movie Shahid, according to the director, who recalled this in an interview. He was able to persuade them to cast him in the lead, nevertheless, because he felt confident in the actor for the part.

“They said he’s outside your office, have chai with him now,” He enters, and after 30 minutes, I mean, something happened. I sensed the proper vibe. I sensed a connection with him and noticed his hunger and sincerity. He claimed he wished to establish it. Shahid was his dream part, and he knew it.

After Shahid, Hansal Mehta and Shahid worked together on three other projects: City Lights, Aligarh, and Omerta. Rajkummar last appeared in Bheed, a film by Anubhav Sinha. For his performance in Badhaai Do, he most recently received the Filmfare Award for Best Actor.
