Why did you decide to start your own apparel company?
I really wanted to create something that empowered women to be themselves. I truly believe my purpose is to inspire other women to follow their true nature and be true to themselves.
What was the biggest rejection you faced and how did you overcome it?
I was trying to get my brand into a big retailer, so I sent my leggings to Nordstrom’s. One of the ladies in the buying department thought they were beautiful and really liked the concept so she gave them over to the main buyer. The main buyer told me she thought they were ugly and definitely not for Nordstrom’s. I was devastated for about 2 hours, and then I realized that not everyone is going to love what I create and that’s okay. I have sold thousands of leggings all over the world so some people definitely do.
What drives you to keep going each day?
Without purpose people perish. I believe that my purpose is to help other women find their true nature by me finding mine. Every day has a new lesson for us.
