She responded to a follower’s tweet that featured a photo of a woman eating with her hand while still entirely covering her face with the niqab. While the majority of her Twitter followers backed her, several added that one could take off the niqab while eating.

Zaira debuted in Bollywood with the Aamir Khan-starring film Dangal. At the time, she was sixteen. Before quitting acting, she appeared in two more films, Secret Superstar (2017) and The Sky is Pink (2019). She claimed that she had to choose between her acting profession and her faith and religious views.
