“Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world.” – Harriet Tubman
People often choose their passion and go after it. For Vickash, it was as if his passion chose him at an early age of 10 when he started dancing. Passion is really the energy that keeps us going, that keeps us filled with meaning, happiness, excitement, and anticipation. To Vickash, also known as Ushindi, dance is pure love and his passion. A force so powerful that it can accomplish anything you set your mind to, and in experiencing work and life the fullest extent possible.
So despite the hardships, what allowed Vickash to keep moving forward was his passion. Born in the Democratic Republic of Congo “Bukavu”, Vickash was raised in a conservative Christian family where it was difficult for Vickash’s parents to accept and appreciate his passion for dance. Not just conservative in nature but his father was a pastor which meant his dancing skills would only be welcome if they were for the gospel.
Needless to say Vickash was successful at following his dream. Vickash has coached almost 100 students at a go and has trained almost 400 students for a week at his Paris workshop. The 21-year-old dance instructor looks up to Odongkara Emmanuel for his grit and passion towards his art and admires the way he infused innovation to level up. His enthusiasm for life leads him to do more in the future.
