With the M3 processor, Apple debuted a new generation of MacBook Pros last year, and the M3 chip was recently included to the MacBook Air. Nevertheless, it appears that the business is already developing a new MacBook Pro that will include the unannounced M4 chip.

Apple has begun developing the M4 MacBook Pro.

The information was provided by Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, who mentioned the M4 chip in passing during a Q&A session. Gurman claims that Apple has “just begun formal development” of an M4 chip-powered MacBook Pro that has not yet been released.

In October 2023, the latest MacBook Pro made its debut. With the same 3-nanometer technology as the A17 Pro chip found in the iPhone 15 Pro, it was the first Apple gadget to run on the M3 chip. Apple also released the more potent M3 Pro and M3 Max for the MacBook Pro’s top models in addition to the M3.

The M3 chip has also been updated for the MacBook Air and iMac in addition to the MacBook Pro. Mac mini, Mac Studio, and Mac Pro, however, have not yet received the M3 upgrade. Apple may not release its first M4-based computer for at least a year.

The A18, Apple’s upcoming chip for this year’s iPhones, is allegedly the foundation of the M4 rumour. More Neural Engine cores are anticipated for both to handle AI-related activities, and these should be present in iOS 18 and macOS 15. In contrast, the A17 Pro chip’s Neural Engine can process up to 35 trillion operations per second.
