Mohammad Kaif, a former assistant coach for the Delhi Capitals, chose the team’s “X factor” before to the commencement of the season while also making a stunning declaration about his place in IPL history.

There is precisely one week until the 16th season of the popular Indian Premier League (IPL) begins in Ahmedabad. A day later, when they play Lucknow Super Giants on the road, Delhi Capitals, one of the few teams yet to win the elusive trophy, will start their season. Before the season began, former Delhi Capitals assistant coach Mohammad Kaif chose the team’s “X factor” while making a dazzling declaration about his place in IPL history.

“Warner is the team’s strength in my opinion, I’ll say that always. He is the kind of player who, when in form, is capable of dominating games by himself. Warner most likely never receives the recognition he merits, but he has established himself as a famous batter in IPL history. He has a profound understanding of the conditions in India. He has performed in India for some time. Warner is therefore the X factor for me, he remarked.

When Warner returned to the Delhi franchise last year after a 13-year absence, it was like coming home. The Australian started his IPL career with Delhi in 2009 before switching to SRH. In the IPL 2022 season, he amassed 432 runs for Delhi with five fifty-plus scores and a strike rate of 150.52.

When asked about Delhi’s weaknesses, Kaif mentioned that their main difficulty would be finding a capable substitute for Pant. “Delhi must determine who will succeed Rishabh Pant. It’ll be a difficult question,” he continued.
