The Skoda Superb has returned to the Indian market after a long absence. This luxurious vehicle was well-liked in its class and had a reputation for outperforming cars far heavier than it was. Skoda has unveiled the 4th generation Superb sedan and estate in international markets. But it’s the identical third-generation model that was introduced in India.

India’s Relaunch of the Skoda Superb Via the CBU Path:

The Indian sedan market has drastically decreased. putting the Toyota Camry in control of the executive sedan market, with the Hyundai Sonata, Honda Accord, and Volkswagen Passat having long since been phased out. One of the last executive sedans produced in India was the Skoda Superb, which was discontinued because to the more severe BS6 P2 emission regulations.

But Skoda Auto Volkswagen India changed its mind and reintroduced the Superb sedan at Rs. 54 lakh (ex-sh). The L&K model with all the bells and whistles is the only one available. Given that this identical car was being sold in India for a starting price of Rs. 30.5 lakh (ex-sh), the price appears to be on the upper side. That is the cost associated with importing cars into India using the CBU route.

In the past, the Skoda Superb was assembled here and brought into the nation through the CKD route, which resulted in lower taxes. Updated versions of the third generation Superb, which were previously sold in India, are now available. While we preferred the more recent 4th generation model, Skoda felt this one was better suited for the Indian market. We’ll start delivering later this month.

The Skoda Superb is a CBU, hence it will only be available in a limited number. Just 100 of them. Water World Green, Magic Black, and Rosso Brunello are the available exterior color options for the Superb. 18-inch wheels are used. Notable exterior features include full LED headlights with washers, Active Chassis Control, and LED fog lights with cornering features.

We receive the same set of internal features as before. Triple zone auto climate control, a huge infotainment screen, ventilated front seats, electrically operated front seats with memory function, a massaging driver seat, virtual cockpit instrumentation, driver tiredness detection, TPMS, parking assistance, and 9 airbags are some of the features we are discussing. Given that it is an import and that the sunroof is not available, the ADAS suite is a considerable offer. As if anyone really needed it.

You will be somewhat let down if, as Petyr Janeba, Head of International Sales at Skoda, has stated, you were hoping for a diesel engine. Since this isn’t it. We described ourselves as “slightly” disappointed because the 2.0L 4-cylinder engine is a true cherish that delivers a powerful burst of performance.

Peak power and peak torque of 320 Nm and 187 kW respectively are performance measures. This engine is paired with a single quick-shifting 7-speed DSG automatic transmission. It takes only 7.7 seconds to go from 0 to 100 km/h. After the initial 100 units expected, there is no information available on the next round of Skoda Superb imports. There has also been no update on the fourth generation Superb sedan’s diesel engine.
