“Our space garden isn’t just for show,” they continued, “understanding how plants develop in space will help us understand how to grow crops on Earth, offering a crucial supply of fresh food on lengthy trips to the Moon, Mars, and beyond. Along with other veggies, @NASAAstronauts have grown lettuce, tomatoes, and chile peppers aboard the ISS. There are still many more plants to come.
