The near-production concept version of the next Maruti Suzuki Swift was on display at the 2023 Japan Mobility Show. Early in November, the modified 4th gen test mule was first captured on camera in India. The hatchback will be introduced in the nation at the same time as its global debut, which is scheduled for the following year.

Suzuki is revealing key information about the revised hatch as its debut date approaches, even though not all of the material was disclosed at the official announcement. This time, the latest generation Swift’s dimensions and official fuel economy numbers are available. Let’s examine them now.

The New Maruti Suzuki Swift of 2024 Will Use Less Fuel

The company’s official numbers indicate that the fourth generation Swift’s hybrid version would reportedly achieve a fuel economy of 24.50 km/l. On the other hand, the provided data for the non-hybrid variant are 23.40 km/l.

For comparison, the domestic market’s current generation Swift is stated to obtain 22.38 km/l in manual transmission models and 22.56 km/l in automatic transmission models. It has a 1.2-liter K12C dual jet dual VVT four-cylinder petrol engine that produces a peak torque of 113 Nm and 89 horsepower.

Regarding the engine, the next generation Swift will be powered by a brand-new 1.2-liter, three-cylinder Z12E naturally aspirated petrol engine. Although the engine’s specifications are unknown, rumors indicate that the torque output will undoubtedly increase. It will have hybrid technology in addition to being paired to a CVT gearbox. However, it is quite doubtful that the India-spec vehicle will come with a CVT and hybrid option.

Dimensions of the 2024 New-Gen Maruti Suzuki Swift

Looking at the above table, it is evident that the latest generation Swift has grown by 15 mm in length. Conversely, there is a 40 mm and 30 mm reduction in width and height, respectively. The wheelbase is not changed. It is noteworthy that the changes in dimensions are extremely slight, and it will be intriguing to observe the impact of these adjustments on both practical application and cabin space management.
