What was a major challenge you had to overcome to get to where you are today?
I “failed” in the entertainment industry twice. But I didn’t see them as lessons; I thought they just meant I wasn’t cut out for the entertainment world. After all, I had a family. I needed to make money to provide for them, and entertainment wasn’t working out.
It didn’t occur to me that there were other jobs in the industry besides dancing for recording artists, getting record deals, and doing commercials. I thought I had to do what everyone else was doing. But I realized there are actually a lot of ways to make money from my passions, not just what I’d always seen others do.
It took a huge investment of both time and money for me to change my mindset. It was incredibly challenging, but it’s been worth it to do what I love.
What makes you stand out from others in your field?
We’re committed to serving our dancers at the highest level. There are a lot of dance shows out there, but none are as focused on helping the dancers succeed as we are.
What exciting projects are on the horizon for you/your business?
We’re really gaining traction with the WorldWide Dance Challenge, building relationships with different companies to help dancers truly get discovered. Hopefully the platform will continue to grow and more dancers can get their big break!
